How Did I Benefit From A Bad Situation

A couple of weeks ago, my Tesla got pranged by one of the moving vans when I moved to France.

This is particularly annoying, as it’s such a beautiful car I find it rather embarrassing having a dent in the side of my car.

Anyway, I called up one of the Tesla-approved garages to get a quote on how much it will cost to fix this relatively small dent. Well, guess what?

It’s going to cost nearly £3,000 to fix this small dent!

It’s going to cost so much to fix because they have to repaint half the car!

The car is painted with something called a three-stage pearl paint, which apparently is incredibly difficult to colour match.

I called up the insurance company yesterday to make a claim. I got through to the insurance company quickly enough, spoke to somebody for about two minutes who promptly put me on hold.

I jokingly said to Dave, who was sitting on the desk opposite me, “I bet he puts me on hold for 45 minutes,” and then I get cut off.

Dave said, “That is definitely a possibility.”

I thought I would use this time wisely.

I put the phone on speaker whilst the call centre played me some horribly annoying music.

I decided to use the time to change my address details on my driving licence.

I’ve been putting this off for the last couple of weeks because I was expecting it to take forever, and be really complicated.

I logged onto the website easily enough, and guess what?

It only took six minutes?

Anyway, to get back to my call with the insurance company, guess what?

I was on hold for 45 minutes, and then got cut off.

I called them back. After another 30 minutes on the phone, I finally had my claim filed.

What’s the moral of this story?

First of all:

  1. I didn’t let it upset me, because I mentally predicted it would take a long time.
  2. I then used my time wisely to do something I’d been putting off for a long time.

As affiliate marketers there are loads of tasks we do which seemed to waste a lot of time.

One of the biggest time wasters for affiliate marketers is traffic generation.

What if you could get someone to drive the traffic for you?

Why not hire someone to drive the traffic for you?

I’d like to invite you to an online training class where I’ll show you exactly how you can outside traffic generation, and profit from that traffic.

By the way: Miriam, my cat, is the mend. She’s walking again, just.

A broken pelvis and sleeping on the floor.

Two weeks ago, I moved to France.  What happened?

  • A broken pelvis,
  • sleeping on the kitchen floor,
  • almost writing off my Tesla.

First off, my move to France had two phases.

  1. Take all of my office and computer stuff over to France in a van myself.
  2. Hire a moving firm to move all of my household stuff into storage.

The move seemed to go well until the moving truck backed into my Tesla and left a huge dent in the door.

After about 4 or 5 days of being in France, I finally got my office set up, my computers online, and the house in order and tidied up.

I had almost finished unpacking when my cat, Miriam, stumbled into the kitchen with an injury to her back leg. It was late at night. So I couldn’t go to the vet.

She seemed to be in pain when I tried to move her, so I left her on the kitchen floor and put my duvet next to her.

I ended up sleeping on the floor with Miriam that night.

The next day, I took her to the vet for an x-ray and we found out that she had a broken pelvis.

Earlier today, Miriam had a special operation where they inserted a metal plate to repair her pelvis.

Apparently, she’s pulled through and is absolutely fine. We collect her on Saturday. I guess it’s going to be quite a long recovery for her.

The big lesson I learned from moving to France is, don’t try and do too much yourself.

I definitely think I tried to do too much stuff myself, driving the van, loading boxes, unloading dishwashers and fridges with Dave.

I think I’ll hire someone else to do that next time!!

The same can be true in business.

If you try and do too much stuff yourself, you’ll end up running around in circles, never actually accomplishing anything.

If you really want to get ahead in business quickly, or want to get ahead with affiliate marketing, and massively accelerate your results, you really should hire experts.

In other words, hire outsources to do the tasks, you’re either no good at

or

to do the tasks, which you hate doing.

Outsourcing has definitely helped me grow my business enormously over the last 12 months.

Would you like to find out the secrets outsourcing?

I would like to invite you to an online training class where I’ll show you exactly how you can outsource traffic generation and profit from that traffic.

All the best.

Really sorry I won’t be attending the London lunch today because of all the problems with Miriam and her broken pelvis.

Speeding at 119 miles per hour

As some of you may know, Dave is a bit of a petrolhead and absolutely loves his white Jaguar.
We quite often get into discussions comparing notes between my Tesla and his Jaguar.

A couple of weeks back, we got onto the subject of top speeds and I asked Dave how fast would his car actually go if we put it on a racetrack, 100 miles an hour, 110, 120.

It’s hard to say. Dave suggested that we go to a racetrack to test out how fast his car would actually go.

I went online and booked a track day at the Goodwood Race Circuit.

A week later, we both turned up at the race circuit.

There was a very interesting mix of people at this event, drivers with regular street cars such as BMWs and Mercedes to the most serious bunch, the people who obviously did this as their full-time hobby.

This consisted either of very fast sports cars such as McLarens or Aerial Atoms or modified Japanese imported cars like the kind of cars you see in the Fast and the Furious films!!

I decided not to be a passenger in the car as this would fill me with horror so I decided to stand on the track side and take photos.

I could see Dave was having great fun and managing to overtake and outmaneuver cars which were much more powerful than his.

On the main straight, Dave managed to get up to 119 miles per hour. Pretty incredible especially since Dave’s car is a diesel.

Here were loads of different cars there ranging from 30 -year-old BMWs to very expensive brand new McLaren sports cars that cost hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The guys driving the McLarens seemed to be very cautious and were not on the track for very long at all…

I guess they were kind of paranoid about writing their cars off.
Now the guys in the much older cars which they had obviously modified themselves were taking much higher risks and seemed to be having a lot more fun.

Sometimes, simple is better

The same thing is true with internet marketing and affiliate marketing. Simple is sometimes best.
There are all sorts of expensive, complicated and glamorous tools you can buy as an internet marketer.

  • Keyword tools
  • Competition analysis tools
  • Building sales funnels
  • Learning loopholes

Sometimes you just need to get back to basics, keep things simple..

  • Find an affiliate product to promote.
  • Send traffic to that product.
  • Make sales.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

Well, that’s because it is. These are the strategies I use when I make sales with affiliate marketing.
Would you like me to teach you how to profit from affiliate marketing the simple way?

If you’d like me to teach you how to become a super affiliate and how to profit from affiliate marketing without having to learn all that complicated stuff. Watch this video to find out more 🙂
Must go now.
All the best,

Sarah Staar
By the way:
I’ll upload some photos from the track today to my Facebook page and also to my blog.
